I refuse to give up.

I was an accountant for 11 years until I decided to quit my job and travel in January 2017. That started the search for a new path. I really thought that Navotac would be the answer but after a year of giving my 100% effort to developing the business, I decided that I can be more productive doing another thing thatnl fits my core capabilities and aligned to my life goals.

That lead me to my lifelong passion to technology and after seeing the potential of blockchain to change the world, I decided to make the jump to learn the technologies behind it. One of it is fullstack web development.

Learning fullstack web development is hard. Coming from a different discipline, there is a big need to adapt. Well, after I encountered all the hardships in the islands (that can be a great blog itself, how hard and life changing it is to live in a remote island for a year) web development is easier to approach.

What’s hard with full stack web development is the diverse number of technologies that you have to tackle at the onset.

  • You must know html, CSS & JavaScript to create websites.
  • You must know how to use the terminal.
  • You must know node and other libraries or framework like React and Angular.
  • Source control like git and github is essential for collaboration with other developers.

And the list goes on…

I’m doing really well now and really more comfortable with my skills with JavaScript and React. I’m now focusing on learning the backend development. That’s going to be my focus for this week.

Are you on the same journey or thinking of entering a different profession or learning a new craft? Let me know your thoughts..🙏
